Virtual Vehicle

The Virtual Vehicle Competence Center (VIF) was founded in 2002 as an international research center that develops technologies to achieve affordable, safe and environmentally friendly vehicles for road and rail. Since 2008, VIF has been a holding company of the Austrian COMET K2 research program K2-Mobility. With 200+ full-time equivalent employees today, of which almost 80% are involved in R&D, VIF has many years of experience in setting up and coordinating projects in collaboration with industry and research facilities. In the field of railways many projects focusing on the vehicle-track interaction in general have been carried out by VIF, resulting in substantial know-how in physical and data-driven modelling. In this context, the parametrization and optimization of the developed models plays a key role. VIF has vast experience in planning and carrying out of lab and field experiments as well as in analyzing the gained data.
